ULM and ULL finished 1st and 2nd in Division 1, with Texas finishing 9th. In Division 2 Texas A&M finished 7th while Texas State took 1st. Overall it was a very good showing for the South Central Region and an outstanding job by Texas State and the University of Louisiana Monroe.
Natalie Berdnikova won every womens event and Danyelle Bennett took second in all three events. Other SCR D1 winners were Ian Trapp in Mens Slalom, Alaksei Zharnasek in Mens Trick, and Steven Critchley in Mens Jump. Adam Seldmajer took 1st in Overall. Nick Williams to the highest place for the Longhorns with a 13th finish in mens slalom.
Bobby Hall squeaked out a 1st place overall finish over Brent Norwood who finished 2nd. Brent also won mens jump.
Next year looks just as exciting, with Texas bringing back their entire mens team and several young Texas A&M skiers will surely improve. Texas State has several skiers moving on, but hopefully they can reload. Both ULL and ULM will lose some important members of this years teams, but they also got impressive performances from freshman and as always you never know who or where they will recruit next years freshman.
